Our Company
Since 1969, our company has provided multi-line investigative services including trial preparation encompassing the five boroughs of New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, lower Rockland, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and lower Connecticut which is serviced by our Baldwin, NY home office.
We have had the pleasure of representing many fine companies and self-insurers since United Claims Service, Inc. was founded in 1969. References are available upon request.

Joseph M. Rizzo - President, C.P.C.U
- Graduated from Hunter College in 1974 with Bachelor of Arts degree. Upon graduation, Mr. Rizzo joined Crawford & Co., as an independent insurance adjuster handling auto and general liability.
- In 1978, Mr. Rizzo joined St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Co., as a liability claims representative. In 1981, he joined United Claims Service, Inc., as a liability claims supervisor. Years later, he became full Partner and Vice President. After passing a series of 10 national exams, he earned the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation in 1988.
- Joseph Rizzo is licensed in the State of New York as a General Adjuster.
Joanne J. Brass-Pesa - Vice President
- Attended Nassau Community College and Adelphi University in Huntington, New York.
- In 1978, Ms. Brass-Pesa joined the Hertz Corporation in New York City as a Claims Examiner. In 1981, she took a position with Chubb Group where she remained until 1984.
- In June 1984, Ms. Brass-Pesa went to work for AIG as a Litigation Supervisor and remained there until 1987 when she joined Home Insurance Company as a Litigation Manager. In 1989, Ms. Brass-Pesa joined United Claims Service as a Supervisor.
- Joanne Brass-Pesa is licensed as an Independent Adjuster in New York State and State of Connecticut and is licensed as a Private Investigator in the State of New York. She has many years experience in investigation and adjusting of insurance claims as well as supervising adjusters, investigators and defense attorneys in the course of claims handling.
- In 1991, Ms. Brass-Pesa became a full partner and Vice President with United Claims Service, Inc.
- Joanne Brass-Pesa is also licensed as a NYS DCA Process Server.
